The Dead Man’s Boreen was a little road I regularly took during my childhood and teenage years, by car or bike, and for many years also on horseback. The fields at the front are in County Tipperary, and the hills in the distance were in County Waterford. In spring the fields were green, and ripened to bright gold in summer, and after harvest they would turn a brownish gold, and in winter they would become an old gold on some days, and bright orangey gold in the low winter afternoon sun.
